Going Downtown for Hometown HiQ

Saturday 1-11 we went downtown to KDKA to support Sarah and her team at the taping of Hometown HiQ television program. The show will air on Saturday February 15. We got on the Library car at Simmons Loop aroiund 8:30 and arrived downtown around 9:30. We had time to get some McDs stuff near Gateway Station before walking over to KDKA in Gateway Center.
Along the way we traveled over the top via Warrington and Arlington Avenues. I shot some photos out the window.

We rode outbound on the 42/38 to Shannon and then walked the crooked path and new ramp to the Willow Station where we caught the car back to Library. We invested $14 in the Port Authority at the beginning of our journey. I bought a couple of day passes as they no longer accept Medicare cards. I did this from the machine at the Library/Simmons station.
The over the hill operation was due to landslides at the south Trolley Tunnel portal. It was just inbound when we went into town with outbound cars using the inbound tunnel track. When we came back the tunnel had close completely so we rode outbound over the hill too...
The trip inbound was doop-de-doo with an older operator (slowing drastically for each switch). Outbound we booked as ops were delayed. At Willow we encountered a bunch of passengers waiting because the Overbrook line was 30 minutes delayed and there were a lot of 42/38 riders that wanted to go to the Village. We were the only ones left on the platform after the Village car departed. The Library car wasn't far behind. First thing the operator asked was if we were going to Library... The car was the 1705 wrap car 4222! The wrap, still going after 6 years.
