This past week I installed the mechanisms in the route number and destination sign boxes.


October 28 I caught these shots from the national news TV screen showing the now infamous bus in the hole on 10th Street in downtown Pittsburgh.  The jokes continue.  The hole will take several more months to fix.  One issue is likely steam tunnels that carry heat from the nearby production plant on the north side of the PRR main line to many building in all parts of the Golden Triangle.








Pumpkin patch trolley 2019

Turns out this will be our last year for the Pumpkin Patch Trolley event.  Next year we will have two weekends of the Dino event and have a new event that is a kind of trick or treat.

Yesterday we sadly learned of the passing of dear family friend Jim Riedel...In looking for photos of Jim I stumbled on these photos of family fun times in Baltimore in 200 1, where our cute little assistant ops manager learned the trade.    We learned of Jim's passing just before our regular Friday Zoom call we dubbed this next week the UnFair.  I was in charge of the call and appropriately we had a visit by Rod and Ellen in California as well as our buddy Tom in New Jersey.  Jim's passing was a sad surprise at this annual time of year when he would always make a point of visiting.  Rest in Peace...our Great Friend!   County Fair was cancelled last month while the dirt dumpers continued to bring whatever quality of fill to the site just down the street.  I should get some photos to show the amazing terrain altering fill & excavation.    I have been busy on many fronts. all museum related.  There were a couple weekend...

Weakly Reports webpage is kaput...

Starting about 2 weeks ago I cancelled the weaklyreports.net URL and hosting service for my personal webpage.  I am no longer producing my long running weaklyreports page.  This is due to the costs of maintaining the URL and hosting services and the fact that Apple's iWeb software is no longer supported and will quit working completely with Apple's Mac 10.15 system update (all software must be 64-bit applications). I first tried out blogspot in 2014 but didn't post anything that I kept until 2016.  This past week I looked here and decided to push forward with the curved learning needed to use this venue.  This morning I took some photos from my drive and put together a page of info regarding happenings from the end of October 2019. I've decided instead to take the Google Freeway which I started about 4 years ago although my oldest post was started in 2016.  I wish I knew how to personalize the themes and I suppose I will eventually learn but for now conti...
